Designers asked, we shipped.
Studio now supports nestable layer groups — select any combination of layers, group them, and treat the whole bundle as one: move, rotate, scale, opacity, visibility, and lock. Children stay editable inside the group.
A few things worth knowing:
-
Nest as deep as you like
Build dial → hands → ticks → markers hierarchies that match how you actually design. -
Z-order is parent-scoped
Layers compete in z-order against siblings sharing the same parent, not across the whole face — so reordering inside a group never disturbs anything outside. -
Collapse to focus
Click the chevron in the layer tree to fold a group while you work on something else. Collapsed state is local to your session and isn’t saved into the watch face. -
Ungroup any time
Children pop back to the parent with all transforms preserved — nothing gets destroyed.
Available now in Studio, on desktop and mobile.
