Dial Object Feature Request

I wonder if Watchmaker/Studio could add an object type that is effectively “concentric circles”?

If you look at a lot of real world watches with circular sub-dials (chronographs for example) then it’s often the case that they are decorated with concentric circles. In effect a very simple form of guilloche. This Longines is an example (zoom in to 12 o’clock or 6 o’clock sub-dials) …

Now think about how you could actually draw that sub-dial pattern in Watchmaker.

To create a single circle you can use “Ring” and set it to not animate and set the inner and outer diameter to close values so it’s basically just a line.

But to do concentric circles, to create the decoration effect above, you’d need a ton of such Rings, each with smaller and smaller diameters towards the middle…

… in effect something that computer software is very good at.

Watchmaker could have “Concentric”, or something like that, where you get to set inner diameter, outer diameter, line thickness and two colors for the alternating line colors. It could easily draw 50 or 100 concentric circles for me alternating white and grey (for example)

Those are surprisingly hard to get right! Here are some I have made if you are interested:

Yeah . Then you have to cut them with a Mask . May be we will get Boolean Masking one day .

Wow those look great.

If nothing else I’ll see if I can use those. Thanks.
